Spirit Of Courage Nominations

Nominate your heroes for a Valley Preferred Spirit of Courage or Partners in Prevention Award. The heroic act or educational effort must have taken place between June 1, 2011, and May 31, 2012.
All nominations are due June 15, 2012. Award winners will be honored at the Seventh Annual Valley Preferred Spirit of Courage Award Celebration at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, Pa. on October 2, 2012.
Proceeds from this program will benefit the Burn Prevention Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Regional Burn Center. AHA BLS Instructor Course

American Heart Association BLS Instructor with Instructor Pkg
Course Pre-requisites:
- Current Certification as an AHA BLS Healthcare Provider
- Achieve a score of 84% or higher on the BLS HCP Written Examination
One of the following:
- Has been identified as having Instructor Potential during Performance in a Provider Course (please include documentation with registration)
- Has demonstrated Instructor Potential during a screening evaluation. Screening evaluations can be held at EMI by appointment only, please call 610-969-0296 to schedule,
Completion of AHA Core Instructor Course.
The Core Instructor Course is an online course that takes approximately 8 hours to complete. Registered students will be sent the information to access this course at least 4 weeks prior to the class date. If you are certified through the AHA in another discipline (ie: ACLS, PALS) and have already completed the Core Instructor Course, please attach a copy of the certificate, as you will not be required to repeat it. The course cost will be reduced by $25 if a certificate of completion for the Core Instructor Course is included with the registration.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course (including being monitored within six monthsof the class date) the Instructor Candidate will have all the information needed to teach American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Providers Courses, as well as all of the AHA Heartsaver Courses including CPR/AED and First Aid. Instructor Manuals for Healthcare Provider and Heartsaver disciplines are included in the course.
Successful Completion:
Successful completion of this course includes attending the BLS Instructor Course after meeting all of the above pre-requisites AND attending a BLS Course at EMI to be monitored as an Instructor Candidate. Satisfactory performance during your monitoring session will result in you BLS Instructor Card being issued.
